15 February: Top 5 Series I Haven’t Finished

Top 5 Tuesday was created by Shanah at Bionic Book Worm, but now it is hosted by Meeghan at Meeghan Reads.

This is an interesting one for me. The series I read tend to be crime fiction so expect a list full of those! I don’t know how I feel about series. I’m obsessed with starting them from the beginning, even if the books can be read as a standalone because I think the character development is much stronger, but this can sometimes put me off a book series as it does seem like a bit of a faff!

Will Trent Series by Karin Slaughter

This is one of my favourite crime series. I’ve so far read numbers 1-3 and number 8 and now there are even more! I started with book 2 not realising it was a series and picked up book 8 from the library. The characters are what makes this series for me.

Harry Hole Series by Jo Nesbo

My introduction to Jo Nesbo was his standalone novel The Son and so far I’ve read books 1-4 in the Harry Hole series. I’m steadily collecting them and every one has been fanastic!

DI Kate Young Series by Carol Wyer

This is one of the best crime series I’ve read in a long time and feel it is one that could be adapted by the likes of Jed Mercurio! I’m on the blog tour for the third installment, A Life for a Life and I cannot wait!

Millennium Trilogy/Series by Steig Larson and David Lagercrantz

I’ve read the original trilogy for Millennium but none of the subsequent novels by David Lagercrantz. I hope that they live up to the original.

Nathan Cody Series by David Jackson

I discovered David Jackson after reading his standalone novel The Resident (which is BRILLIANT!) and started listening to his Nathan Cody series. I’ve done books 1-3 and now just have the 4th instalment to go until I’m up to date. Absolutely gripping crime writing.

What sort of series do you tend to go for? I’d love to hear your favourites!

  1. I haven’t read any of these. I’m afraid that I tend to read on the lighter side of crime (less trauma and thrills!)
I hope you enjoy these when you get to them, and I hope you had fun this week!! 💕
