18 January: Top 5 books I will definitely* read in 2022

Top 5 Tuesday was created by Shanah at Bionic Book Worm, but now it is hosted by Meeghan at Meeghan Reads.

I’m terrible for making a TBR and not sticking to it! There are some books though that I’ve been putting off for sometime that I would like to get round to this year.

The Green Mile by Stephen King

My father-in-law lent my the six part omnibus and I have had it over a year! I’m certain it will be an amazing read.

The Lamplighters by Emma Stonex

I’ve seen so many amazing things about this book from the lovely folk on Twitter and I must say the cover is GORGEOUS.

Why I’m No Longer Talking To White People About Race by Reni Eddo Lodge

I must read this book. It will be enlightening. It will be uncomfortable. But it will be important.

Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi

I’ve tried to pitch this book twice to my book club and it has always missed out marginally in our vote! Rather than wait for them, I will dive in alone.

Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell

I really like books that make me feel something so deeply. All I hear about Hamnet is how emotional it is but I may have to leave it for a time when I’m feeling pretty good in myself!
