Top 5 Books With Plants On The Cover
The theme of August is book covers. So far, I’ve done 5 books I love with food items on the cover and creatures on the cover. Now it’s time for plants! I have a feeling there’s going to be quite a few I could mention.

Regeneration
Regeneration tells of soldiers in WWI who are recovering from shell shock. I did a unit on war fiction for my AS Level English Literature and I adored this book.

The Road
There is something so eerie and hauntingly beautiful about the writing in The Road. For a relatively short book, it packs a big punch. The father and son relationship is stunning.

Station Eleven
This book was chosen for the theme of “apocalypse” for my book club – ironically well before covid and for the month we left the EU (I think you can tell what our political persuasion is!). I still think this remains one of the books we talked the longest about and it’s my favourite book that I’ve ever read with book club. There is so much humanity in a book about a plague which wipes out most of the human race.

Stay With Me
A book about a couple trying for a baby and the pressures that come from their families, set in Nigeria. This book was heartbreaking and beautifully written. If you like contemporary novels or literary fiction, I’d highly recommend Stay With Me.

A Monster Calls
A Monster Calls is a children’s’ book. I read it as an adult. It had me in floods of tears. It hit such an emotional point with me. I’m not sure if I would have appreciated the poignancy of this book as a child. I’ve also watched the film and it’s gorgeous. I want to get the edition with the illustrations.
What’s your favourite book with plants on it? I’d love to hear your recommendations in the comments!
