Let’s Talk Bookish weekly meme hosted by Rukky @ Eternity Books and Dani @ Literary Lion.
AUGUST 6: WHAT IS YOUR POSTING TYPE? (SUGGESTED BY NICOLE @ THOUGHTS STAINED WITH INK)
Prompts: Everyone blogs differently, how do you do it? Do you schedule posts long before they’re published, how long? Do you write several drafts of a post and edit them, or do you not edit at all? Perhaps you simply write a post and put it up for the world to see immediately? There’s no right or wrong answer!
It’s almost been a year since I started my blog. I very much do this for fun and as a way to channel my thoughts. It’s so lovely that other people read what I write, too!
Because this is a hobby, my posting style is rather ad hoc and often depends on my mood and the amount of time I have to dedicate to blogging.
I try to spend a few hours scheduling posts, especially for memes like this or Top 5 Tuesday. I’ve only just started this but I’ve scheduled those posts up until the end of September! Sometimes I post immediately, but that’s actually quite rare for me.
Reviews tend to be written no earlier than a week before as I’m usually waiting on the media pack from blog tours. I haven’t written a review in ages for a book that I’ve read for fun as I just don’t have the time to review everything I read.
In terms of editing, if I’m writing for a blog tour, I do read my review back to check for repetition and spelling mistakes. But a lot of the time I just skim and press post! I try not to obsess too much as it makes me quite anxious. If I notice a mistake, I just go back and correct it. It’s a way of me working through my fear of failure!
I’m interested to see where my blogging journey takes me. It will never be more than a hobby but I wonder if I will be able to keep going with it for years, if it will fizzle out, or if I will blog in fits and starts. I’m starting a new role as Head of Department at the end of August so I know I’m going to be really busy and rather stressed as I get to grips with my new responsibilities and the pressure that I’ll put myself under, but I hope that I’ll be able to continue using blogging as an outlet.
I’m interested to hear from you fellow bloggers! What’s your blogging style?
I was going to join in on this topic but I already did a post about my blogging style a while back. Looks like your blogging is going well.

I find it really interesting that you don’t review every book, I feel like that might make reading a little more enjoyable!!

I just really don’t have the time, energy or will! But I do want to review more of my general reads in the future.
